ACC asks Govt to make announcement on separate AIIMS before July 30

JAMMU, July 27: AIIMS Coordination Committee (ACC) today accused both the Central and State Governments of compelling people of Jammu to come to streets to get their demand regarding the establishment of the sanctioned AIIMS in Jammu fulfilled.
Chairman of the ACC, and president of the JKHBA, Jammu, Abhinav Sharma while addressing a large gathering of civil society members here today said ACC has resolved to get the demand fulfilled and it will not budge even an inch from its stand.
Maintaining that ACC will intensify agitation, he said to mobilize public opinion it would organize a massive candle light protest march on July 29.
Making a strong dig at BJP, he said the ACC reposed full faith in the Party ministers when they on June 18 reassured them through a written commitment that they would get necessary orders on the establishment of AIIMS in Jammu passed. “We withdrew the bandh call and also suspended the chain hunger strike hoping they would do the needful latest by July 20, but the BJP left the people of Jammu region disappointed”, he added.
Abhinav Sharma further said the youth of Jammu are joining the movement in large numbers and added that the ACC has also planned to involve University and College students and School children in the movement.
Addressing the friends and well-wishers of Jammu region, senior Advocate and former Bar president, Bhupinder Singh Slathia rejected as a cunning ploy the statement of Education Minister and spokesperson of J&K Government Naeem Akhtar that the PDP also endorsed the demand in Jammu for AIIMS.

Singh, Narinder Sharma, Amulay Gupta, Umesh Sharma, Saurav Bansottra, Dheeraj Bhasin, Ravinder Kumar, S K Rainia, former president State Gurudawara Parbhandak Committee (SGPC) and President Sikh United Front, Sardar Sudershan Singh Wazir, Sardar Avtar Singh Khalsa, general secretary, Sikh United Front and Member DGPC, Darbinder Singh, Ramnik Singh, Fateh Singh, Raja Singh, Members DGPC Jammu, Mohinder Singh, chief organizer, Bhai Kanahiya Nishkaam Sewa Society, Param Jeet Singh, president AISSF, Kulwant Singh, Surjeet Singh, Sikh Naujawan Sabha, Jarnail Singh, Member DGPC, Samba, Surinder Singh Kala, president J&K Motor Transport Companies Association, Kamaljeet Singh, Sarpanch Rathaana, Surinder Singh Saini, Kuldeep Singh Malik, Ghansham Singh, Daya Singh, Members DGPC, Doda, Jarnail Singh, Kulvinder Singh and Mittar Pal Singh, Member DGPC, Samba.
Among others who addressed the gathering included Judge (retd) and president JPPF, Pavitar Singh, Tariq Bhat,  Rajkumar, Chairman Jammu Adhikaar Manch, Rajesh Thappa, Ajay Bakhsi, Surjeet Singh, Dr Inderjeet, retd Jt Director Industry and Commerce, and Darvinder Singh.
Meanwhile the Kathua Bar Association suspended work in district and Session Court Kathua in support of AIIMS Coordination Committee.
