Border areas without power for last eight days

SAMBA, July 27: The resident of Rajpura, Sarthiyala Kala and other areas of border are irate over the snapping of power supply due to breakdown of 400 Kv power transformer in their area for last eight day.
A meeting of border residents  was held under the leadership of K K Gupta, Legal Committee, chairman, Rajpura Panchayat and other prominent villagers and expressed strong resentment over worst power scenario in their area.
The speakers lambasted the higher authorities of Power Development Department for immediately replacing of 400 Kv transformer and for ensuring regular power supply in their villages.
The villagers alleged that passing sleepless nights for last eight days due to snapping of power supply. The position of old, infirm and children is worst as they can’t resist the scorching heat”, they added.
The villagers accused the PDD authorities of not replacing the transformer despite many pleas and warned to hold a strong protest in case the transformer was not installed immediately.
