Classical dance event on August 2

Varsha Shetty, classical dancer, will give a dance performance titled ‘Nrityarpana’ at Rajangana here at 6.30 p.m. on August 2.

Addressing presspersons here on Monday, Veena M. Samaga, director of Radhakrishna Nritya Niketana and classical dance teacher, said that the ‘Nrityarpana’ would be a solo performance by Ms. Shetty. She would be doing three pieces each in Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi.

Daughter of Ashok and Ratna A. Shetty, Ms. Shetty had been studied classical dance at the Nritya Niketana for the last nine years. She had passed Bharatnatyam junior and senior grade examinations and was learning Kuchipudi.

After completing her Second Year PUC at the Brahmavar-based Little Rock Indian School, Ms. Shetty was now doing her first year MBBS at SDM College of Medical Sciences in Dharwad.
