Ex-JSCA man attacks Choudhary
Ranchi: A former member of the state cricket association on Monday accused president Amitabh Choudhary of misuing funds allocated for the development of the game.
Sunil Singh, secretary of Ranchi District Cricket Association (RDCA) and former member of the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA), said Choudhary was running “a one-man show”.
Singh, who protested in front of Raj Bhavan on Monday, said fund allotted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India for development of cricket infrastructure was spent on recreation in clubs, tennis and swimming facilities on the stadium premises.

“It (JSCA) has become a family affair. There is no democracy. Elections are not being held. Office bearers are using their chairs for own vested interests,” said Singh.
“Instead of harnessing talents, JSCA is going gung-ho over its stadium,” he added.
The RDCA man, known for his detaste for Choudhary after his unceremonious exit from JSCA in 2013 on the grounds of misconduct, voiced its support for HEC’s stand over violation of lease agreements.
Many JSCA insiders say Singh was removed because he supported Choudhary’s rival before the cricket body’s election. Also, Singh had signed the lease agreement on behalf of JSCA with the HEC.

Trashing JSCA’s apology for missing the T20 World Cup match, Singh said, “The venues were selected well before the HEC controversy broke. It is the BCCI joint secretary’s (read Choudhary) inability to secure a match. The excuse is just a way to fool people.”
Singh asked Choudhary to come clean on accounts of JSCA and reveal the minutes of its 2015 annual general meeting in Deoghar (that was held early this month), where eight amendments were done to the JSCA constitution.
Choudhary was not available for comment.
In its announcement last week, BCCI named Bengaluru, Chennai, Dharamshala, Mumbai, Mohali, Nagpur and New Delhi as venues for ICC T20 World Cup, to be played out in March next year. The JSCA issued an apology four days later (July 25), blaming it on HEC’s needless cancellation of lease agreement for the loss.
