Digital identity for auto drivers

July 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - NALGONDA:

In an attempt to keep a check on autorickshaw related crimes in the town, Nalgonda police have introduced unique digital identity to every auto being run in the town.

Distributing the digital identity to auto owners during a programme at Clock Tower Centre here on Monday, Superintendent of Police Vikram Jeet Duggal said that every auto will be given a digital code which will be pasted on the backside of driver’s seat. Mr. Duggal said that the identity card contains the driver’s photograph, identity number, phone number and police contact number. He hoped that the initiative would also infuse a sense of discipline and responsibility among the drivers and owners.
