Judge’s car stopped, government to reply

July 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 07:16 am IST - Patna:

Taking serious note of a judge’s vehicle being forcibly stopped here by RJD supporters during the Bihar shutdown on Monday, the Patna High Court asked the State government whether it was supporting the shutdown and ordered the chief secretary to appear in court in this connection.

Rashtriya Janata Dal supporters stopped the vehicle of high court judge Rakesh Kumar, which led to his asking the state government whether it was part of the shutdown.

He ordered the chief secretary to appear in court with the government’s reply.

Justice Rakesh Kumar also asked why the State government did not provide adequate security during the shutdown.

RJD chief Lalu Prasad was arrested while demonstrating during the day-long shutdown called to protest against the central government’s failure to make public the caste-based census. - IANS
