Two killed in accidents

A two-wheeler rider was killed on the spot after he was mowed down by a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus on Queen’s Road here on Monday morning.

The police said Ishan (24), a resident of RT Nagar, was on his way to his office in Bommanahalli around 7.30 a.m. when a BMTC bus from Shivajinagar going towards K.R. Market hit him in front of the Income Tax office.

The impact was so high that Ishan was reportedly tossed up in the air, after which he fell down and suffered multiple injuries.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival, the police said. The bus was seized and the driver was taken into custody.

Pedestrian dies

In another incident, a pedestrian was killed on the spot in Banaswadi after a car knocked him down on Saturday night.

The deceased was identified as construction worker Nagendra Sahu (28), a resident of Banaswadi, who was a native of Bihar and had moved to the city six months ago.

Sahu was crossing the Outer Ring Road at Hennur when a speeding car, which was going to K.R. Puram from Nagavara, knocked him down. Sahu was killed on the spot. The police have arrested the car driver, Kiran, in connection with the accident, said the police.
