DYFI condemns attack on SFI functionaries

Condemning the attack on Students Federation of India (SFI) functionaries at Kovilpatti, members of Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) and SFI staged a demonstration near Collectorate here on Monday.

Led by its district president A. Murugesan, members said that the attack by Kovilpatti police on students is barbaric. They also said that the police have registered false case against the functionaries and demanded the cancellation of the case. They demanded that the functionaries injured in the attack were undergoing treatment in hospital and wanted Rs. 2 lakh as assistance for them to take care of medical expenses. District secretary N. Praveen Kumar demanded action against the police for the attack and registering of false case against the functionaries.
