RK-Deepika’s French connection
Early last month, in an interview to Mirror (June 1), Deepika Padukone had admitted that after working, individually with Imtiaz Ali in Love Aaj Kal and Ranbir Kapoor in Bachna Ae Haseeno and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, it was her dream to make a movie with both of them together. She’s living out that dream with Tamasha, an exclusive first look still of which was leaked to Mirror.
The picture from a shoot in Corsica reiterates the easy camaraderie that the two, who were once in a relationship, share, despite having moved on in real life. “The chemistry which was evident during Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is sizzling again and the happiness is reflected on their faces,” says a source close to the development.
Tamasha’s script has been heavily guarded but as Mirror had earlier reported (August 7, 2014) RK plays a free-spirited nomad in the film who likes to spread happiness around and wanders from place to place. Along the way, he bumps into Deepika’s character, who like him is a fan of the French comic series, Asterix, which is set in Corsica. Together, they set out to explore the picturesque French island, staging dramatic plays and falling passionately in love. “It’s a journey which is somewhat close to their real life journey as couple and individuals,” adds the source.
