TEHRAN – Iranian superstar Mohammadreza Golzar has signed a contract to act in “Hi Mumbai”, which will be produced in collaboration with Bollywood cinema, the Persian service of ISNA reported on Monday.

Earlier in June, Iranian director Qorban Mohammadpur and producer Javad Noruzbeigi entered into talks with Bollywood producer Pahlaj Nihalani to seek his collaboration in the film.

Nihalani is scheduled to make a trip to Iran on August 7 to sign a contract for the distribution of the film in India.

He is the producer of “Aankhen”, “Talaash: The Hunt Begins” and “Shola Aur Shabnam”. He is chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification of India and the former president of the Association of Motion Pictures and TV Programs Producers of the country.

Mohammadpur previously announced that he plans to hire the Indian actress Aishwarya Rai, the winner of the Miss World pageant of 1994, for the project.

Shooting of the film will commence on location in Mumbai on October 7 and later on in Iran with a cast of Iranian and Bollywood actors.

The editing will be done simultaneously in Iran and India as the director hopes to submit it to the 34rd International Fajr Film Festival that will open in February 2016.
