25-yr-old man found hanging from a tree in Kanpur

KANPUR: Body of a 25-year-old factory worker was found hanging from a tree in Panki Industrial area of the city here on Monday raising suspicion that he could have been murdered. The body of one Shubham, a native of Aaseevan Asharfabad area of Unnao, who was employed at a private unit in Panki Industrial Area, was found hanging from a tree near the factory premises, said a senior police officer.
According to the deceased's family members, Shubham had gone out on Sunday but did not return. On Monday morning, some locals spotted his body hanging from a `neem' tree, and informed the local police, which in turn apprised his family members. Later, a police team arrived at the scene of crime and sent the body for post mortem examination.
A police officer said that Shubham had left his house on Sunday, and on Monday morning, his body was found hanging from a ‘neem’ tree near his work place. But on the other hand, Shubham's family members alleged that he was murdered by his employer, who had not paid his eight months salary and had been harassing him since long. The deceased's family members created ruckus and misbehaved with police officials at th scene of the crime demanding interrogation of Shubham's employer and his co-workers for the leads in the case. Forensic experts were also called to ascertain the cause of the factory worker's death under mysterious circumstances.
Amit Rai, Circle Officer, Kalyanpur, however, said that the cause of Shubham's death could be known after the post mortem report was received. He said that case has been registered against his employer following a complaint lodged by his family members. Further investigations are underway in this regard, he informed.
