AHMEDABAD: A team of Ahmedabad rural police’s local crime branch (LCB) caught three persons, including a 15-year-old boy, for killing a 25-year-old youth on July 23.
On July 23, Jatin Vaniya, a resident of Modasar, a village near Sanand, had confronted the accused teenager near Lodariya village’s outskirts as the teenager was harassing his cousin over phone for past few days.
Vaniya slapped him and threatened him of dire consequences if he continued the harassment. At that time, the teenager had called up his friends.
“Sensing trouble, Vaniya had called up his friends, including deceased Mihir Jadav.
While passing from the road to Lodariya, the teenager and his friends attacked them with lathis. While Vaniya survived the blow, Mihir was hit in the head after which he lost balance and fell on side of the road.
He along with another friend was then beaten up as Vaniya fled from the spot. When they returned after some time, Mihir had sustained severe injuries. He died soon after he was taken to a nearby hospital,” said an LCB official.
Police have identified two accused as Mayur Makwana, 19, a resident of Kochariya village near Bavla, and Vishal Jadav, 19, a resident of Adroda near Sanand, along with the teenager.
Police said that they are verifying whether the trio is involved in any previous crimes.
