Bombshell golf reporter pays off prom bet she won anyway

Andrew Orischak may have lost the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship this past weekend, but his consolation prize is better than any trophy.

The 16-year-old golfer bet Fox Sports reporter Holly Sonders to go to prom with him next spring if he took home the title on Sunday. Sonders agreed and Orischak nearly triumphed on the green, but blew a five-hole lead with eight holes to go.

Watching Orischak’s championship (and prom) dreams slip away, Sonders took matters into her own hands.

“When Andrew reached the championship match, I gave my phone number to his mom to show I was serious,” Sonders explains to Golf Digest. “Andrew put his heart and soul into the week, and we all could see how upset he was last evening.”

While dining with her mom, Sonders tweeted to Orischak to accept his offer regardless of the outcome.

We’re sure Sonders will follow through on her promise, unlike other prom-posals gone awry.
