Rakhale hails Sfaxien result

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates midfielder Thabo Rakhale felt the most important thing was getting the three points, after bagging the winner in a 1-0 victory over Sfaxien on Sunday night.

The first half ended in stalemate as neither side was able to breach the opposition defence, although Bucs will have every right feel aggrieved after having a stonewall penalty waved away by the referee.

Pirates came flying out of the traps after the half-time break and claimed the lead after just one minute of play, Rakhale launching a quick counter-attack before spotting the goalkeeper off his line and chipping him with a deft touch.

He told the club's official website: "It all happened very quickly; I had an option to pass the ball across goal but there was a defender... at that moment I saw the keeper off his line and I decided to go for it and I'm glad I was able to pull it off."

Reflecting on the contest and the result, he added: "We got the points and that's all that goes on the table. It's what we needed and we've done it.

"Sfaxien gave us a tough game, they came at us but we were up to the task and I believe we could have scored more but like I've already said, the most important thing is the win tonight."
