With 63 million monthly users new Internet users, India topped the list of countries adding new Internet users this year. We(India) have 232 million Internet users and our 65 per cent Internet traffic comes from mobile. There are many users who are using Internet only on smartphones (and not on desktop at all). When Myntra went app-only, it was faith in the mobile growth and not a bet. Almost every startup is mobile-first if not mobile app-only. Rahul Sharma, Co-founder, Micromax & Founder, YU Televentures

Rahul is the driving force behind Micromax’s commendable position in the Indian mobile handset market. Leading the Product and Sales strategies in Micromax, Rahul encompasses an enriching work experience of 13 years. He takes great pride in investing all his energy and deep commitment to quality in improving the business performances of his organization.

Peeyush Ranjan, SVP and Head of Engineering, Flipkart

Before joining Flipkart in April this year, Peeyush has spent the last nine years at Google in its headquarters (Mountainview), where most recently he managed Google’s Android One engineering group. He has also managed Motorola’s Value Devices engineering group and was Managing Director of Google India for research & development.

Manu Kumar Jain, Xiaomi, India Head

An IIM Calcutta alumnus, Manu was working with McKinsey for almost five years, before joining Jabong as a co-founder 2012. Xiaomi has witnessed a phenomenal growth in India over the last one year under his leadership.

Arvinder Gujral, Twitter, Director, Asia-Pacific Business Development

Arvinder has an experience of leading firms in India and USA in the space of mobile and wireless, digital ecosystem and emerging technology. He’s an authority on mobile VAS, applications, social networks and Internet trends.

Karthee Madasamy, Qualcomm Ventures, MD, India & Israel

Karthee has led early-stage technology investments in USA, India, Israel and South East Asia.

He invests in the areas of mobile video, mobile internet, e-commerce, cloud, analytics, semiconductors, biometrics, multi mode user interfaces, consumer devices and mobile social media. His successful exits include Waze (acquired by Google) and Validity Sensors (acquired by Synaptics).

Varun Khurana, CTO, Grofers

Varun is a serial entrepreneur and an angel investor. Currently driving technology at Grofers, he had earlier co-founded Mygreenbox (acquired by Grofers) and Wirkle Technologies (acquired by Location Labs). He is a member of the Indian angel network and also an independent angel investor. He has invested in IndiaCollegeSearch.com, getShifu.com, and Aurus Networks.

Vikram Vaidhyanathan, Matrix Partners, MD, India

An IIM Bangalore alumnus, Vikram joined McKinsey & Co. after his MBA and worked across a variety of sectors, including mobile media, TV, retail, engineering construction and manufacturing. Working alongside the top management of India’s leading companies, Vikram understood the mix of entrepreneurial chaos and operational discipline needed to grow businesses in India.

Amit Somani, Angel Prime, Managing Partner

Amit is an ex-Googler, who was heading Products at MakeMyTrip, before turning an angel investor. He is the managing partner of the Bengaluru-based seed-stage fund Angel Prime and an investor in Qikwell and MindTickle.

Ankit Rawal, General Manager India, InMobi

Over the last six years, Ankit has set up InMobi Africa; built an agency team for InMobi India and is now leading an Inside & Online Sales for APAC & Japan. Having built and leading cross multicultural teams across India, SEA, China , Korea and African countries and has an expertise in overall mobile ad market across Europe, US & LATAM.

Harshjit Sethi, Sequoia Capital

Harshjit is an associate at Sequoia Capital, India, looking after early stage investments in technology companies. He was earlier with Dropbox, running their Android product prior to which he was a consultant at McKinsey. He’s a Stanford graduate who also co-founded the entrepreneurship bootcamp at the institute.

Sampad Swain, Founder, Instamojo

With a mission to democratize payments for all, Sampad co-founded Instamojo in December 2011. He has built three startups so far, got an exit and raised venture money multiple times. Sampad has been a part of the rise of the internet economy in India from 2009.

Kunal Shah, Founder and CEO, Freecharge

Also known for his witty one-liners on social media, Kunal has built one of the largest internet companies of India, FreeCharge. Snapdeal acquired the company for $400M in the largest-ever deal in Indian Internet history. Kunal has an understanding of the customer acquisition and mobile economy among youth like very few.

Kamal Tripathi, Director Engneering, Snapdeal

Kamal has been managing high-scale transactional system and growing and grooming teams at Snapdeal. He has been instrumental in the development of OMS (Order Management System), mobile website and mobile apps of the company.

Rajat Upadhayaya, VP - Engineering, Urban Ladder

At Urban Ladder, Rajat has scaled the team from two to 30 people and has helped the technology migration from Magento (PHP) to Ruby. Earlier an entrepreneur (of a hyperlocal app) and a technology consultant, Rajat is an open source enthusiast.

Brij Bhasin, Principal - India Investment Lead at Rebright Partners

Brij has been instrumental in designing and executing the GSF Accelerator program since its inception. He has worked on technology products for over 10 years and founded tablet-based CRM and big data analytics startup. In his current role, he is actively looking to invest in consumer internet, mobile apps, e-commerce (and m-commerce), digital media startups focused on the India market.
