Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund has enhanced its exposure in retail & real estate, engineering & capital goods and media & entertainment space. However, it decreased it weightage in the banking & financial services, information technology and tobacco space.

Federal Bank, Ashok Leyland and ICICI Bank were top buys, while NTPC, Marksans Pharma and IDFC were top sells by the fund.

The study of Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund portfolio for the quarter of April-June 2015 shows that in the retail & real estate sector, the fund has bought Oberoi Realty and introduced PNC Infratech and Indiabulls Real Estate. However, it sold Prestige Estates Projects from the same sector. (View - All Bulk Deals by Mutual Funds).

In the engineering and capital goods segment, it purchased Larsen and Toubro, FAG Bearings India and Techno Electric and Engineering Company and introduced GMR Infrastructure and Jaiprakash Associates, while it sold AIA Engineering, Cummins India, National Buildings Construction Corp and exited from ILandFS Transportation Networks, Crompton Greaves and Bharat Bijlee.

The fund bought DB Corp and introduced UFO Moviez India and PVR in the media & entertainment space. Whereas, it sold Zee Entertainment Enterprises. (Check out - Which sectors are attracting Fund Managers?)

In the banking & financial services pack, the fund sold Housing Development Finance Corp, IDFC and Yes Bank. It also exited from ING Vysya Bank. However, it bought Bajaj Finance, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Federal Bank and also introduced UCO Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services and Dewan Housing Finance Corp from the same pack.

The fund sold Tech Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services and Infosys and exited from Hexaware Technologies in the information technology space, while it bought CMC, Persistent Systems, Smartlink Network Systems and introduced Oracle Financial Services Software.

In the tobacco pack, it sold ITC and exited from Godfrey Phillips India.
