VADODARA: A ‘sanedo’ promoting cleanliness prepared by a student of M S University’s Faculty of Social Work will be launched by Gujarat government. Chief minister Anandiben Patel is likely to launch it on Gandhi Jayanti as part of ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’. Hemang Joshi, a student of MHRM, had prepared the ‘sanedo’ as a part of his assignment.
Now, the couplets have gained such popularity that singer Bhoomi Trivedi will lend her voice to the ‘sanedo’ as MSU has decided to institutionalize the song.
Also, university is making efforts to get the ‘sanedo’ launched by Patel on October 2. “I had composed the ‘sanedo’ during community awareness programme, which we were given as an assignment in Navsari in December last,” said Joshi. “Gradually, I became popular in the region as mamlatdars and MP of Navsari insisted that we sing at all the villages of Navsari and Vansda,” said Joshi, who hails from Porbander.
MSU has decided to hand over the recorded ‘sanedo’ with voice of Trivedi to Gujarat government. “State education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama wants our chief minister to launch it,” he said. Joshi has also been approached by Garba organisers of Saurashtra who want to play the ‘sanedo’ during Navratri festivities at their venues.
“MSU pro vice-chancellor professor Parimal Vyas wants to propagate the ‘sanedo’ in video format for which two teachers of Faculty of Performing Arts will give their support,” he said.
