TNT Express Q2 Loss Narrows, Backs 2015 Guidance - Quick Facts

Logistics company TNT Express N.V. (TNTEY) reported second-quarter pretax profit of 16 million euros, compared to a loss of 1 million euros, prior year. Loss to equity holders of the parent was 1 million euros, narrower than 4 million euros in the prior-year quarter. Loss per share in euro cents was 0.2, compared to a loss of 0.7.

Total revenues increased year-over-year 6.2 percent to 1.76 billion euros from 1.66 billion euros in the same quarter last year. Revenues grew 4.1 percent at constant currencies, net of fuel surcharges and disposals.

Looking ahead, TNT reiterates its current financial year and longer-term guidance. TNT expects 2015 to be a challenging year of transition marked by the progressive ramp-up of new and upgraded facilities and other transformation projects, such as the outsourcing of IT.

TNT said it anticipates restructuring charges of between 25 million and 30 million euros in the third quarter of 2015.

(a previous version of this story erroneously said revenues declined year-over-year.)
