PF adalat in Nagercoil on August 10

Bhavishya Nidhi Adalat by Employees Provident Fund Organisation, renamed as ‘Nidhi Aapke Nikat’ (PF Near You), will be held at the EPFO, Sub-Regional Office at 66, Water Tank Road, Nagercoil on August 10.

A release issued by Regional Provident Fund Commissioner II P. Senthil Kumar said that the adalat would be held between 10.30 a.m. and 1 p.m. for subscribers, and between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. for employers.

Deadline

Mr. Senthil Kumar would hear the grievances of the EPF subscribers. EPFO members could submit their grievances to the Sub-Regional Office in person or forward them to P. Mohanan, Assistant Provident Commissioner (PGHS), by August 3.

In another release Mr. Senthil Kumar said that Nagercoil Sub-Regional Office had settled 1,772 claims, amounting to Rs. 5.28 crore, in June.

EPFO members’ contribution, amounting to Rs. 6.90 crore, was remitted by the employers.

A total of 449 of the 2,226 ECR-registered establishments failed to remit members’ contribution for the period up to May.

Notices issued

Notices had been issued to the defaulting establishments. He said 112 new pensioners were added under the EPS ’95 in June.

As many as 15 EDLI claims received from family members of the pensioners were settled within a month.

He said Rs. 49.14 lakh had been recovered from defaulting establishments.

The EPFO was taking steps to recover the outstanding amount from the defaulting establishments by attaching their moveable properties, Mr. Senthil Kumar added.
