The Delhi Jal Board has started trial runs of the 20 millions of gallons per day (MGD) Waste Water Treatment Plant at Pappankalan.
It is expected to benefit nearly nine lakh people, besides helping reduce pollution in the Yamuna.
“The DJB is in the process of commissioning the 20 MGD Waste Water Treatment Plant, constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.243 crore,” said a senior DJB official.
Areas including Uttam Nagar, Dwarka, Palam and Bijwasan Assembly constituencies will benefit with the commissioning of the plant, as sewerage facility will reach them contributing to improved hygienic condition there, the official added. — PTI
