JAIPUR/JAISALMER: After rain wreaked havoc in southern Rajasthan, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Sunday issued an advisory stating heavy to very heavy rainfall in the eastern Rajasthan in the next two days. The government has put all district collectors in eastern Rajasthan and relief teams on high alert following the forecast.

Eastern Rajasthan comprising Dausa, Alwar, Karauli, Bharatpur, Sawai Madhopur and Ajmer are likely to get heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours. Jaipur is also expected to get heavy rainfall in the next couple of days.
“Eastern Rajasthan has received less rain since the onset of monsoon as the season was vigorous in southern Rajasthan only. Teams have been kept on high alert in these districts,” said a senior officer on Sunday.
Meanwhile, torrential rain continued in southern and eastern parts of the state on Sunday as well where normal life and road traffic was badly affected.
After a long time, Jaipurites too had a pleasant Sunday as mild showers lashed the city. However, the outskirts of Jaipur including Shahpura, Kothputli, Dudu and Kanota received heavy rain.
