KANPUR: Lala Lajpat Rai (LLR) hospital will soon get a new blood bank building for which a detailed proposal of constructing the building with Rs 4.7 crore budget has been submitted by the hospital administration to the state government.
The present blood bank building, situated in the GSVM medical college premises, is nearly half-a-kilometre far from the LLR hospital campus.
This long distance causes inconvenience to the kin of patients, who have to walk to the other side of road to fetch blood from the blood bank. Besides, people have to rush to the GSVM campus from LLR premises in order to get blood on time.
Dr RC Gupta of LLR hospital said that a detailed proposal of the new blood bank building has been submitted to the state government. "The budget for the proposed building is 4.7 crore which will be constructed near OPD in LLR premises. Keeping in mind the inconvenience caused to our patients in the past, we have decided to relocate the building," Dr. Gupta said.
