TAXILA: A pedestrian overhead bridge on G.T. Road at Nawabad near Wah Cantonment split into two after a trailer carrying a mixture truck hit it. However, no human casualty was reported.

Sources in the National Highways and Motorway Police told Dawn that the Peshawar-bound trailer coming from Rawalpindi failed to judge the height of the pedestrian bridge.

As a result, the mixture truck loaded on the trailer hit the bridge and split it into two.

Traffic on the inter-provincial highway was suspended for hours after the incident.

On the complaint of the motorway police, the Wah Saddar police registered a case against the trailer driver and started an investigation.
