KALABURAGI (Karnataka): A judge has been arrested from his residence in Karnataka's Sindhanur town for allegedly accepting a bribe.
Bidar police superintendent C H Sudheerkumar Reddy told TOI that Sharanappa Sajjan, a senior civil judge, was caught by the vigilance wing of the Karnataka high court while taking a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from Keerthiraj Poshte, a resident of Bidar, on December 23, 2014.

On Saturday, the judge was produced before a court which sent him to judicial custody for 15 days.
Acting on a complaint, Bidar police had registered cases against Sajjan and two others. Two men who acted as the judge's messengers - Baburao Biradar and Koushik Jagirdar - were arrested on December 31, 2014.
Sajjan sent his resignation to the high court chief justice in the first week of January. He later told reporters he had taken a hand loan of Rs 1 lakh from Posthe.
