Norms for Vallasadya

July 26, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:40 am IST - PATHANAMTHITTA:

The Palliyoda Seva Sanghom (PSS), in association with the Travancore Devaswom Board, has pronounced certain regulations for the systematic conduct of the ritualistic feast, Vallasadya, at the Sree Parthasarathy Temple at Aranmula, this year. PSS president K.G. Sasidharan Pillai and secretary P.R. Radhakrishnan Nair told The Hindu that the number of Vallasadyas to be offered at the temple complex had been restricted to 10 a day and that at the halls outside the temple complex to three.

The preparation of the feast to be offered inside the temple complex should be done strictly at the kitchens set up at the temple complex itself.

Surveillance cameras had been installed at all the kitchens at the temple complex. ‘Turn’ system for the sadya contractors have been implemented to provide rest for the workers in each catering team. Only the PSS-approved caterers would be permitted to conduct the Vallasadya.

Arrangements had been made for safe waste disposal two hours after the feast. Only those with the pass issued by the PSS should be permitted to take part in the Vallasadya, other than the boat crew.
