School toppers of SRV Matriculation Higher Secondary School who secured top three ranks in the SSLC and Plus Two examinations held in March and April this year, were honoured at a function “Harvest 2015” organised on the school premises at Samayapuram near here on Saturday.

S. Nagamuthu, judge of the Madras High Court, who was the chief guest, honoured the students with “Harvest 2015” award. He appreciated the hard work put in by them to secure the ranks.

Mr. Nagamuthu called upon parents not to be coercive towards their wards but to acknowledge their tastes and views. “Your wards are not your bonded labourers,” he said appealing to them to allow their wards to be independent while choosing their career. He called upon students to honour and respect their parents. Students should learn the art of imbibing virtues and noble qualities through their experience.

P. Swaminathan, secretary, spoke on the role of school teachers in motivating the students towards higher goals. A. Ramasamy, president, presided over the function.
