The need for inculcating values in the students was stressed by speakers at a seminar on Value Education organised by the Value Education Movement (VEM) at the Government Boys Higher Secondary School in Katpadi on Saturday.

G.P. Ramakrishnan, Motivator of VEM said that the National Council for Education, Research and Training (NCERT) has laid down 93 values to be imparted to the school students. He appealed to the headmasters and teachers to take up the responsibility of imparting these values to the students in their schools. The Value Education System was introduced by the Ministry of Human Resources Development about 20 years ago. It is time now to implement the system in the schools, he said.
