Uppal MLA continues dharna for second day

July 26, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:37 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Uppal MLA N.V.S.S. Prabhakar continued his agitation for the second day demanding the reinstatement of the 300 dismissed sanitation workers of Uppal area and he was supported by BJP president G. Kishan Reddy, Musheerabad MLA Dr. K. Lakshman, and Malkajgiri MP M. Malla Reddy.

Addressing the gathering at the Uppal municipal office, Mr. Kishan Reddy and Dr. Lakshman said that no government threatened the employees when they were on strike and dismissed them without discussing their issues. They said GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar isn’t functioning like an officer and that he is responsible for dismissal of thousands of sanitation workers by misleading the government.

They asked Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to fulfil all the demands of the sanitation workers and reinstate them immediately.

This is not the Telangana one wanted, where the voice of the poor people is suppressed. The government should sympathise with their issues rather than threatening them, they argued.
