Mussoorie, July 25
Around 30 students, who had excelled in the Uttarakhand Board Class XIIth exams, were felicitated at a function organised by Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at RN Bhargav Inter College here today.
Municipal Council president OP Uniyal presented the citations and awards to the students and said such programmes assisted in motivating children to do even better in their career.
Organisation secretary of the ABVP Vikram Pharaswan spoke about the history of the party.
He said students should work not only for themselves but also for the nation. The ABVP is an organisation that works for the welfare of the students, he added.
Vikram said the ABVP would organise a Maha Sangram Rally in support of its demand for admission to all students in graduation courses.
They would oppose commercialization of education and the semester system in the state.
Co-coordinator of the programme Girish Nautiyal presented mementos to three students who secured the highest marks in the exams.
Headmaster of RN Bhargav Inter College Anuj Tayal thanked the guests for their presence.
Ward members Kuldeep Rawat, Beena Panwar, Zila Panchayat member sAshutosh Kothari, Neeraj Agarwal, and Mohan Petwal were present on the occasion.
