Minor cave-in, massive snarl

A minor cave-in on the bridge outside Sion station around mid-day on Saturday led to a massive traffic jam that lasted for hours, bringing south-bound traffic to acrawl, right from Sion all the way to Amar Mahal in Chembur.

Caught in the snarl was Uddhav Thackeray (right), who had gone to attend a function near Priyadarshini Circle.

The Shiv Sena chief, however, was far from upset, and shrugged off the long wait.

While the cave-in itself measured a mere 3 to 4 feet (above, right), the authorities cordoned off the area, fearing that it could lead to a major mishap
