While Ford is all set to launch its entry-level compact sedan Figo Aspire somewhere around August, it is the next-gen Figo that has caught the attention of many at a dealership in Rajasthan. The 2015 Figo was spotted without any camouflage which spells success right by the looks of it.

The 2015 Figo hatch will compete with the likes of Maruti Swift, Chevrolet Beat, Hyundai Grand i10, Toyota Etios Liva and others in the segment. Apart from this, for the first time, company is offering the car with ‘Happy Pocket Service’, which is a comprehensive scheduled service that can be availed at Rs 2,199 at authorised service centres across the country.

The upcoming Ford Figo hatch, expected to be launched a couple of months after Aspire, flaunts a similar front fascia as that of the compact sedan. The exterior elegance is enhanced by chrome inserts on the radiator grille and smoky stealth finish on the fog lamps, bumpers and 14-inch alloy wheels as well. Only the taillights bear a subtle resemblance. Both the cars would come in a refreshed colours – from ‘Sparkling Gold’ to many others.

On the inside, the 2015 Figo, unlike its soon-to-be-launched sibling Aspire offers an all-black interior accentuated with silver on the dashboard. The top end model that was spotted also features Ford’s 4.2-inch SYNC infotainment system coupled with AppLink. Other updated features include an integrated audio system with MP3 decoder and CD player, Bluetooth connectivity, power steering, electronically adjustable ORVMs and ample storage spaces.

The upcoming model also features an automatic climate control as well as the rest of the dashboard design similar to Aspire and its Brazilian counterpart KA. The seats are ergonomically designed that provide ample lumbar support. The dashboard houses an AC unit, a gearbox console and an infotainment system. The instrument panel features many functions such as the tachometer, speedometer, fuel gauge, trip meter, etc. The cabin is a spacious deal with a huge boot space of 284 litres that can be further increased by folding the rear seats.

Safety features such as dual airbags would come as standard, similar to Aspire. The top Titanium+ trim would feature a segment first 6 airbags. Other safety features include a passive anti-theft system, central locking system, three-point seat-belt, ABD with EBD and programmable keyless entry.

Under the hood, the 2015 Figo will be powered by the same set of engines as in Aspire. A 1.2 litre 4-cyliinder Ti-VCT petrol engine, which is a highly modified version of Figo’s 1.2 Duratec motor will be on offer. The engine churns out 88PS of power at 6300rpm with a peak torque of 112Nm at 4000 rpm. The engine which gets independent variable valve timing for exhaust and intake valve, comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
Another engine that might find its way to the 2015 Figo is a 1.5 litre Ti-VCT petrol motor that produces 112PS of power at 6300 rpm with peak torque of 136Nm @ 4250rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.

There are also chances that Figo will get Aspire sourced uprated 1.5 litre TDCI diesel motor that generates 100PS of power at 3750rpm with maximum torque of 215Nm @ 1750 – 3000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. In the Aspire, the motor returns an impressive fuel economy of 25.83kmpl.
