The success of "Baahubali" seems to have made another Telugu movie star test his luck in the Tamil film industry. Mahesh Babu's "Srimanthudu", which will also be released in Kollywood as "Selvandhan", will the screens soon.

"Baahubali" has turned out to be one of the biggest non-Tamil starring movie in Tamil Nadu. The movie, starring Prabhas and Rana Daggubati, has minted over Rs. 40 crore in the state, clearly showing that there is a good market for non-Tamil movies.

Due to this factor, the "Srimanthudu" makers decided to dub the movie in Tamil and plan a simultaneous release with the Telugu version. Mahesh Babu was supposed to make his official debut in the Tamil film industry with his next movie "Brahmotsavam".

He recently told in an interview that he was ready to make his debut with "Brahmotsavam", which is directed by Srikanth Addala and produced by Prasad V Potluri. The Telugu superstar had also said that he speaks the Tamil language fluently as he studied at a college in Chennai. We should note that this film was simultaneously shot in Tamil and Telugu.

However, "Srimanthudu" is a dubbed movie and the simultaneous release in Tamil and Telugu versions was announced recently. As a result, the buzz says that the success of "Baahubali" has paved way for Mahesh Babu to test his luck with dubbed "Srimanthudu" before he makes his debut with Tamil film "Brahmotsavam".

"Srimanthudu" is written and directed by Koratala Siva. Shruti Haasan plays the female lead in the movie, which has Jagapathi Babu, Rajendra Prasad, Sukanya, Brahmanandam, Sivaji Raja, Sanam Shetty, Poorna and others in the cast.

It is said to have been made with the budget of Rs. 70 crore. The film will release on 7 August.
