The BJP, on Friday, expressed full support to Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung with reference to his letter to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal — on the appointment of DCW chief — “a befitting” reply. Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly and BJP MLA from Rohini Vijender Gupta alleged that the “wrongful attitude of the CM has brought government to a standstill.”
Mr Gupta along with the other two BJP MLAs, OP Sharma and Jagdish Pradhan, plan to meet President Pranab Mukherjee on the issue on Wednesday. “Unable to keep himself within the limits imposed by the Constitution, Mr. Kejriwal keeps on illegally and unconstitutionally encroaching upon the rights of the Central Government exercised through the LG,” said Mr Gupta.
“Mr. Kejriwal deliberately chose to bypass the authority of the LG. His allegations against Delhi Police are ill founded. While Mr Kejriwal is politicising the tragic murder of Minakshi, calling a Special Session of the Assembly on women’s safety is an exercise in futility which is a waste of time and money both. The earlier Special Session called by Mr. Kejriwal on May 27 did not serve any purpose,” he added.
