Meridian School, Banjara Hills celebrated its 20th Founder’s Day and investiture on July 13 with much fanfare. The founders Sri Butta Neelakanta and Member of Parliament Butta Renuka were present to invest and bless the School Cabinet.
The function began with a classical dance invoking the blessings of Lord Ganesha. The founders were honoured on the occasion and D. Usha Reddy, CEO and senior principal, was praised for her contributions to the school’s growth and development through the years.
Jai Ramani, a class 12 student and Simran of class 10 depicted the saga of Meridian School in a contemporary dance form, accompanied by the narration of Mohd. Ashhar of class 12, who personified the ideology of the school. Guru Rabindranath Tagore’s poem from the Gitanjali, ‘Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high’, recited by John Chinnam of class 12 was presented as a beautifully choreographed ballet - a fusion of classical and modern. The cultural programme also included an electrifying music medley which left the audience spellbound. On the occasion, the Meridian Mascot, a lion named ‘Merleo’, was unveiled by Ms. Renuka to mark the completion of Meridian’s 20 years. The School Cabinet, led by Head Boy Mohd. Azeem Zubair and Head Girl Divya Kedia, marched on the occasion. A 64-student strong cabinet with house captains, and deputies was invested. Donning the mantle of responsibility, they pledged to discharge their duties to the best of their abilities and abide by the rules and regulations of the school. Ms. Pratima Sinha, the principal, congratulated the School Cabinet and urged them to carry on the traditions of the school to synthesise the old world values with a futuristic approach.
After a vote of thanks by the newly-elected Head Boy and Head Girl, the event concluded with the national anthem.
School cabinet members felicitated
Auxilium High School, Secunderabad celebrated its 24th investiture ceremony recently. On the occasion, the newly-elected school cabinet members were felicitated. This year’s programme had the theme ‘Leaders be the change you want to see’ and was presided over by the quest of honor Colonel Venugopal Nair, an educationist and administrator, who is presently associated with Army Public School.
