Ms. Drakshayani said Rs. 4 lakh would be spent to give away cash awards to top 10 students who score well in the SSLC examination.

She said the academy would award fellowships to eight candidates for conducting research in issues related to children and each candidate would get an honorarium of Rs. 50,000. Ms. Drakshayani said that academy had set aside Rs. 3 lakh for publishing children’s literature this year and would spend Rs. 2.8 lakh for conducting workshops on prose and poetry at the taluk level.
