3 techies held with LSD stamps

Tripunithura police on Thursday arrested three IT professionals from a flat at Chathari on charge of possessing 20 LSD stamps.

Tripunithura police on Thursday arrested three IT professionals from a flat at Chathari on charge of possessing 20 LSD stamps.

The arrested have been identified as Ebin Sleeba, 26 of Chathoth house near Kanjiramattom railway station, Stevson Joy, 26, of Chembothuruth House at Kollampady near Chitrapuzha, and Geevar John, 21, of Palaal house near Ambalamugal IOC bus stop.

The arrests were made during the drive focussed around flats within the Hill Palace Station police limits. A release issued by the police said that the raid conducted with the full cooperation of the inmates of the apartment complex helped to gather vital information.

The accused were reportedly into short film making. Police hinted at more arrests and the setting up of a special squad to expand the investigation. Illegal inmates, bachelors, and visitors to the apartment complex would be monitored, police said.

The accused were trapped in the raid conducted as part of a special drive named Operation Monsoon being conducted by DCP Muhammed Rafeek under special instructions from City Police Commissioner K.G. James.

The arrests were made by a police team led by Thrikkakara Assistant Police Commissioner Bejo Alexander, Hill Palace circle inspector Baiju Paulose, and sub-inspector P.R. Santhosh. The arrested were produced before the court and remanded.

The accused were reportedly into short film making. Police hinted at more arrests.
