JAMMU, July 23: The AIIMS Coordination Committee spearheading the movement for establishment of separate AIIMS for Jammu will decided the future course of action tomorrow.
This was disclosed by chairman AIIMS CC and president Jammu Kashmir High Court Bar Association (JKHCBA) Jammu, Abhinav Sharma while addressing a members of civil society on the third day of dharna here today.
He said the members of Coordination Committee will meet at Bar Chamber, in High Court Complex here tomorrow to decide the future course of action.
Abhinav Sharma also informed that the JKHCBA, Jammu has decided to suspend work till July 30th. He appealed to all the members of AIMMS CC to attend the scheduled meet considering the sensitivity of the issue so that a decision to intensify the ongoing agitation is taken. He said Coordination Committee has been forced to escalate its activities as the BJP ministers have failed to deliver the solemn promise.
Today members of JPPF headed by its president and retired Sessions Judge Pavitar Singh sat on chain hunger strike. Others who sat included Inderjeet Khajuria, Avinash Bhatia, M L Sharma, Rajinder Singh, president Sikh Progressive Front, Viplav Shastri, M R Bangotra, Kapil Sharma, Prithvi Raj Singh Slathia, Mohinder Dev Sharma, Madan Lal Abrol, Bal Mukund Baru, Mrs Kamla Sharma, Professor B L Bhardwaj, Prem Singh, Sardar Rajinder Singh, Mrs Aarti Devi, R L Tandon Sunita Sharma, Rajiv Mahajan and Pritam Sharma.
Meanwhile, newly elected members of District Gurudawara Parbhandhak Committee, (DGPC), Jammu namely Sardar Avtar Singh Khalsa, Sardar Dharvinder Singh, Sardar Raja Singh, Sardar Ramnik Singh and Sardar Fateh Singh also attended the chain hunger strike and extended full support to the ongoing agitation on the issue of AIIMS in Jammu. Besides, The Resident Doctors Association, Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H), through their president Dr Akhil Gupta also visited the dharna site and announced full support to AIIMS CC.
Coming down heavily on ruling BJP, Pavitar Singh said that it has disappointed the people of Jammu region by not fulfilling the promise and added that the BJP would suffer huge political losses for its dishonesty.
Among others who addressed the dharna included, K B Jandiyal (ex Member PSC), Dr C L Gupta, Narayan Singh, Madan Rangeela, Sham Lal Basson, Dheeraj Pargal, Saroop Singh, Ram Lal Dogra, Bharat Hans, Sardar Gajan Singh and Sardar Gurmeet Singh Ishar.
