KSCA President’s XI subdues Tripura

Mir Kaunain Abbas slammed an unbeaten century as KSCA President’s XI completely subdued Tripura CA on the second day of their clash in the KSCA Dr. (Capt.) K. Thimmappiah Memorial tournament.

Abbas was on 129 at stumps on Thursday as President’s XI reached 287 for two in response to Tripura’s first innings total of 264 at the Alur grounds.

Slim lead

Elsewhere, Bengal took a slim 25-run first-innings lead over Haryana thanks to Ajmer Singh’s undefeated 97.

Over in Mysuru, Vidarbha CA took control of proceedings on the second day of its four-day tie against Kerala CA.

Having scored 353 in the first innings, Vidarbha reduced Kerala to 72 for five in 36.1 overs at the close of play at the JSS-SJCE grounds.

Sarwate scores century

Resuming at the overnight score of 214 for five in 73 overs, Vidarbha was well-served by Aditya Sarwate (112 n.o.) and Akshay Wakhare (28), who added a vital 75 runs for the seventh wicket.

Earlier, Sarwate and Dharmender Ahlawat had added 85 runs for the sixth wicket. Mdium-pacer Ahamed Farzeen bowled well for Kerala, taking four for 79.
