BELAGAVI: As the Congress government has not taken his discloser seriously about arbitrary allotment of G category sites by energy minister DK Shivakumar to his follower Laxmi Hebbalkar in 2004, when he was an urban development minister, former KPCC member Shankar Munavalli announced of knocking doors of the governor in next couple of days seeking permission to file criminal case against the minister.
He was speaking in a press conference here on Thursday, after distributing donation cheques of each Rs 50,000 on behalf of him, to the families of four farmers committed suicide in the district so far.

"I had thought party will take swift action against minister DK Shivakumar and district Congress president Laxmi Hebbalkar, to protect its image from damaging more. But it has been not happening. Now I don’t have option rather fighting against the corrupts via judicial route," he said.
Munavalli said allotting G category sites which supposed to allot for writers, social workers, journalists and prominent politicians have allotted to the members of one family, whose contribution is zero to the society. Besides, allotting the sites to those who already having houses in city is criminal offense, he said.
Meanwhile, he said DK Shivakumar became minister not only by the efforts of Laxmi Hebbalkar but lakhs of workers across the state. He should clarify which yardsticks applied to allot G category sites to the family members of Hebbalkar on wholesale range. He should also clear that sites were allotted Hebbalkar's family just because she is Congress worker or any personal reasons. Munavalli also blamed AICC general secretary and Karnataka in-charge Digvijay Singh for protecting Hebbalkar and DK Shivakumar.
Responding to the allegations of Hebbalkar about he is also one beneficiary of G category sites, Munavalli said site had sanctioned to him under journalists' quota but he rejected that site.
