The Southern actor collaborates with his Raanjhanaa director, ending rumours of a tiff
Dhanush to team up with Aanand L Rai for Hindi remake of 'VIP'
Dismissing rumours of a fall out between him and Dhanush, the director of the recent top grosser, 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns', Aanand L Rai, told Mirror that he is collaborating with his 'Raanjhanaa' hero on his next film. The grapevine was buzzing about Rai editing out a cameo by the South star from the sequel of his 2011 rom com, 'Tanu Weds Manu' but the filmmaker says that's not true.
Dhanush and I share a warm equation. We thoroughly enjoyed working together in Raanjhanaa and will continue to do more films.
I can assure you that our upcoming collaboration is super exciting," asserted Rai.

Mirror has learnt that the director has purchased the rights of Dhanush's upcoming sequel to the 2014 hit, 'Velaiyilla Pattathari', popularly called VIP, which translates as `Unemployed Graduate'. Both the original and the sequel have been produced by the actor and he will also co-produce the Hindi remake with Rai. “Their next film is a remake of VIP 2, a slice-of-life story which Dhanush is currently filming in Chennai," confirms a source close to Rai.
Directed by Prabhu Solomon, the Tamil 'VIP 2' follows the life of Raghuvaran (Dhanush), a dim-witted pantry boy, working on the 'Duronto Express'. His 27-hour journey from Chennai to Delhi is filled with interactions with passengers, whom he not only serves, but also falls in love with. The film features Amy Jackson in the lead.Samantha plays an important role.
The origi nal VIP, directed by Velraj, was about unem ployed grad uates in South India. Dhanush plays Raghu who's been jobless for four years despite holding an engineering degree.

Both Dhanush and Rai want to cast a Bollywood actress in the lead, but hope to retain Samantha.The film rolls in December.
Buzz was, Rai had been planning a sequel to 'Raanjhanaa' with Dhanush.But Rai insists that while the theme of unrequited love may sound similar, this film is completely different from Dhanush's Bollywood debut.
