A 23-year-old woman from Paro died after she jumped into the Thimchu below Dechencholing town around 3.15pm yesterday.

The woman is suspected to jumped into the river following a quarrel with her spouse. The husband and friend tried to rescue her but failed to do so.

Although police were informed, the woman had drowned by the time police arrived. Workers at the Dechencholing bridge construction site recovered the body. By then the woman had already died.
