The interior of Waterstone Ridge — with its hardwood floors, indoor garden and waterfall — seems to flow seamlessly into the nature beyond the home’s walls.

The home is 8,775-square-feet and sits on seven acres of property in Pine Brook Hills, the home’s floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city of Boulder. It is on the market for $9.8 million.

Through the front door of this five bedroom, six bath home is an atrium that looks just as much like a fairy tale movie scene as it does the entryway to a multi-million dollar house. LED lights embedded in the black ceiling create the appearance of a night sky; greenery climbs two floors up a floating staircase; and a waterfall flows into a tiny pond below.

The home’s custom design was begun by Eric Smith Associates and completed by Boulder architect Renzo Verbeck, who describes his work as inspired by the energy of natural surroundings. The house took two years to build and was completed for the current owners in 2005. Interiors were designed by Designs for Living in Longmont.

An elevator in the three-car garage eases access to the home’s kitchen, where a built-in wine dispenser and a built-in Miele espresso machine make it easy to indulge. And if the wine dispenser ever runs dry, the 600-plus bottle wine cellar should suffice.

For entertainment the home has a multi-level theater, an exercise room, an outdoor hot tub and a fully-equipped photo darkroom.

The entrance way and patios all have built-in snow melting heating systems so owners don’t have to worry about finding the shovel when the snow starts to fall.

LIV Sotheby’s listing agent Barbara Silverman said there are currently two serious buyers looking at the property, but no contract has been signed.

The owners purchased the land in 2002 for $275,000.
