A senior member of the Lone Wolf outlaw motorcycle gang had taken drugs before breaking into a woman's home in Sydney's west and taking off all of his clothes, police allege.
In bizarre scenes, the 38-year-old man was filmed staggering naked from the house in Luddenham on Tuesday night before police handcuffed him and took him to hospital.
Officers allegedly found a gun in the backyard of the house he had broken into on Ventana Court, as well as the man's shorts abandoned by the back door.
He was charged with numerous firearm and break-and-enter offences overnight, and is due to face a bedside court hearing in Nepean Hospital on Thursday.
Police will allege in court that, earlier on Tuesday, the man had consumed illicit drugs at his home in nearby Portrush Crescent in Luddenham, and armed himself with an unregistered pistol.
The man allegedly went to a golf course on Twin Creeks Drive and fired several rounds into the air. He then allegedly walked to the two-storey home on Ventana Court, where a woman was home alone, and forced his way inside. He was wearing a pair of shorts at the time, the woman told police.
Residents in the new housing estate reported hearing gunshots ring out just after 6.30pm on Tuesday, before the alleged bikie gang member began banging on the back door of a two-storey house.
The female resident of the house ran to a neighbour's house and called triple zero. The woman's daughter said her mum was "really frightened" at the time.
Police surrounded the property and used a loud speaker to communicate with the man, before he emerged from the house in the nude and walked unsteadily up the driveway, where police arrested him.
It was unclear why he had taken off his shorts.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man for an injury to his foot, and he was given a sheet to cover himself. No one else was injured.
A NSW police spokeswoman said initial reports suggested there might have been more than one alleged offender in the house. Tactical officers with their guns raised entered the house about midnight and swept the home, but did not find anyone inside.
The 38-year-old man, who police say is a high-ranking member of the Lone Wolf outlaw motorcycle gang, has been charged with firing a firearm in public place; possessing an unauthorised pistol; possessing an unregistered firearm-pistol; and breaking and entering with intent to steal.
He remains in Nepean Hospital under police guard. He was refused bail to appear in a bedside hearing of Penrith Local Court on Thursday.
Police from St Marys Local Area Command have formed Strike Force Goodsir, and are continuing to investigate the incident.
