A delegation from Gurez, led by Ex Legislator Faqir Muhammad Khan, today met Education Minister, Naeem Akhtar and presented before him various issues of public importance. During the meeting, Khan raised various issues including relief and rehabilitation of the people especially from Khopri and Badwan villages affected due to upcoming Kishanganga Power Project and the education scenario in the area. While appreciating the efforts put in by the present dispensation to rejuvenate the education system in the area, the delegation highlighted certain related issues for consideration of the Minister.
Responding to the issues raised by the delegation, Akhtar assured them that all genuine issues shall be considered on priority.With regard to the education scenario, the Minister said that there is a pressing need for improving the overall academic scenario in educational institutions across the State, adding that his Department is working on it with a clear vision.
