KANPUR: Former Union coal minister Shriprakash Jaiswal along with Congress leaders and activists performed ‘Sadh-Budhi Hawan’ and chanted ‘Hanuman Chalisa Paath’ after ceasefire violations by Pakistan, at Siddeshwari Durga Temple in Kakadeo area of the city.
Jaiswal said that Narendra Modi-led NDA government is doing nothing despite ceasefire violations by Pakistan, which has made life of people living along the Indo-Pak border and near LOC, miserable and they are now being left at the mercy of God by the Centre.

"Therefore, we performed ‘Sadh-Budhi Hawan’ and chanted ‘Hanuman Chalisa-Paath’ for the well-being of country-men, particularly those living along the Indo-Pak border and near LoC as they are left at the mercy of God by the Modi government," Jaiswal said.
He further said that people living along the Indo-Pak border and near LoC will teach a lesson to the BJP in the next elections for risking their lives and property as they have become the victim of firing in recent past.
Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) general secretary Shailendra Dikshit said the NDA government with all its rhetoric on nationalism has failed to handle the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that every other day, anti-India slogans are raised and Pakistan flags are hoisted in Jammu & Kashmir. Terror activities are continuing in the entire Kashmir valley. "It's because the Centre has adopted a directionless and embarrassing policy towards Pakistan," he said.
Dikshit also questioned the Bharatiya Janata Party over its 'unprincipled alliance' with the People's Democratic Party in Jammu and Kashmir.
Congress party leaders and activists clad in traditional puja attire assembled at Siddeshwari Durga Temple in Kakadeo from Tuesday morning and took part in ‘Sadh-Budhi Hawan’ and chanted ‘Hanuman Chalisa Paath’. "We feel only Lord Hanuman can save the people living at the borders, who have been victim of Narendra Modi’s betrayal," Dikshit said.
