ALLAHABAD: Panic gripped Mubarakpur village and adjoining areas under Nawabganj police station on Tuesday following recovery of two beheaded bodies in Kachar area on bank of Ganga. The villagers, who had gone to graze their cattle, found the body and informed the police.
Trans Ganga SP Digambar Kushwaha said, “Initial probe indicates that the bodies are at least five to seven days old and might had flown in Kachar area due to swift current.”
Describing the bodies as completely mutilated, he said that it seemed that the two were youths aged between 22 and 23 years.
“We have also apprised police of neighbouring districts about the recovery of bodies and have sought their help to ascertain identities,” he added.
As both bodies are beheaded and mutilated, cops are finding it difficult to establish their identity, said an official adding, “We have sought villagers’ assistance to crack the case.” A case under various sections of the IPC has been lodged with Nawabganj police station against unidentified persons regarding the recovery of bodies.
