Plaint against two doctors

July 22, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:33 am IST - Bengaluru:

After Sandhya Vaidyanathan (29), who alleged medical negligence against two doctors garnered support online, the family filed a police complaint at the Mico Layout Police Station on Tuesday.

The police, who were reluctant to take the complaint on Monday, accepted it on Tuesday after a senior official directed them to do so.

The victim’s husband, Vaidyanathan Venkataraman, enclosed all the medical documents. The police will wait for the Karnataka Medical Council to examine the situation after which the FIR would be filed if the doctors are found to be guilty. Ms. Vaidyanathan underwent Hysterosalpingography, a procedure to investigate the uterine cavity and fallopian tube, at Sure Fertility Clinic, J.P. Nagar in May 2013. She said she had to undergo three surgeries and had to get her ovary removed owing to the botched-up procedure over two years ago.
