VH1 president Tom Calderone announced he will be leaving the network on Tuesday, following seven years in the chief role and 17 years with MTV Networks.

VH1 president Tom Calderone announced he will be leaving the network on Tuesday, following seven years in the chief role and 17 years with MTV Networks. 

Calderone made the announcement in an internal memo to his colleagues, Hits Daily Double reports. Before Calderone joined MTV Networks, he was an architect of the Modern Rock format, tripling the number of outlets during his time at Jacobs Media.

He did not announce his next move. 

“Thank you for letting me lead you every day from every aspect of the business. I did not take that task lightly or for granted. You all made it an amazing and wonderful experience to be here for the last several years,” Calderone said in his memo.
