Recalling her first visit to the city two years ago on a school trip, the Dil Ki Baatein Dil Hi Jaane actress said, “My first trip was two years ago when I was studying in Class VIII.
We went to Hawamahal, City Palace, Amber Fort and shopped at the local markets. I loved shopping in Bapu Bazaar. I went shopping during this trip as well. And it was the first time I went shopping without my mother. I picked up a multi-coloured bandhani dupatta, mojris, funky jewellery and bed sheets. And like a smart shopper, which was a surprise for my mom, I managed to bargain as well. We also visited Ajmer Dargah, which was on my to-do list for years. I felt so good after visiting the place with my mom. I did not ask for anything but I wanted to thank God for his blessings and for giving me a life full of independence as well responsibilities.”
Mahima also explained why she became an actress. “It feels great when people love you and I always take it as an inspiration to continue doing good work. I always follow my mom’s instructions to remain grounded no matter how popular I become. I became an actor because it was a dream that my mom could not pursue due to family restrictions. I am just living her dream,” she said. On her plans for the future and Bollywood, she added, “I think certain things in life should remain unplanned and unpredictable. First, I want to finish my studies. Bollywood requires 100% focus. On TV, I can manage shooting as well as studies pretty well. This year I scored 80% in Class X, that too without attending school regularly.
