What is Umashree doing for Girish Kasaravalli?

For the first time ever, all of noted filmmaker Girish Kasaravalli’s films will be screened at the same time, in the same venue. Starting this weekend, the festival will have 11 of his works being screened over five days, along with a special photo exhibition, which feature his films, clicked by KS Rajaram.
The festival will be inaugurated by actress-politician Umashree, who was the protagonist in Kasaravalli’s Gulabi Talkies.The fact that Umashree has the distinction of being the sole actress to have won a state, national and even an international award for the same film is the reason for her being called upon. This distinction also has ensured Gulabi Talkies to be the opening film for the festival.
